My Priorities
Smart Spending. Strong Tempe.
Tempe can protect what matters most — public safety, core services, and community programs — while being disciplined about how we spend. Brooke supports a budget that works for everyone: transparent, outcomes-driven, and focused on the basics before new spending.
Brooke will prioritize:
Safeguarding core services (public safety, infrastructure, parks, libraries, and essential city operations).
Protecting community programs that deliver clear value — especially for families, seniors, and youth
Holding the line on taxes by demanding accountability, evaluating program outcomes, and planning responsibly
Clear budget communication so residents can see where money goes and what results it produces
Affordable & Accessible, For Life
Affordable housing and senior care aren’t “nice-to-haves” — they are basic building blocks of a livable Tempe. Brooke’s approach relies on her experience in City Hall and focuses on legal, practical solutions that help people stay in Tempe with dignity and compassion.
Brooke will focus on:
Preserving naturally affordable housing (often faster and more cost-effective than building new)
Expanding partnerships with nonprofits and mission-driven builders to increase attainable options
Helping seniors age in place through realistic housing options and support for elder care needs
Supporting renters and stability with tools Tempe can legally use to prevent displacement and reduce unnecessary evictions
Results Over Rhetoric, Ready on Day One
Brooke isn’t running to make speeches — she’s running to get things done. As a former City Council aide, she understands how Tempe’s processes work and how to move solutions from idea to implementation.
Brooke will lead with:
Honesty, integrity, and accountability — putting residents first, not politics
A “day one” mindset: understanding the system, the stakeholders, and how to deliver results quickly
Problem-solving that’s realistic: focused on what Tempe can actually implement and fund
Follow-through: setting priorities, measuring results, and reporting progress publicly
Open, Trustworthy, & Transparent Government
When the process breaks down, trust breaks down. Brooke believes Tempe works best when residents are informed early, heard clearly, and treated with respect throughout decision-making.
Brooke supports:
Preserving naturally affordable housing (often faster and more cost-effective than building new)
Expanding partnerships with nonprofits and mission-driven builders to increase attainable options
Helping seniors age in place through realistic housing options and support for elder care needs
Supporting renters and stability with tools Tempe can legally use to prevent displacement and reduce unnecessary evictions
Safe, Welcoming Neighborhoods, With Balance and Dignity
Tempe should be safe and welcoming for everyone — in neighborhoods, parks, and business districts. Brooke supports public safety strategies that focus on real risks and real results, while respecting civil liberties and keeping responses human-centered.
Brooke will prioritize:
Public safety approaches that focus on serious crime and effective prevention
Smart, accountable use of technology with strong guardrails and transparency
Solutions to homelessness that are humane and effective — connecting people to services, not just moving the problem
Clean, safe public spaces through coordination, services, and responsible enforcement
A Heat-Ready, Livable Tempe
Tempe needs practical planning for extreme heat and a better everyday experience, shade, trees that survive, and infrastructure that makes walking, waiting, and getting around safer.
Brooke will lead with:
Shade + cooling where people actually walk (routes to schools, transit, parks, and retail corridors)
Trees with maintenance funding up front so investments actually last
Smart growth that improves quality of life and strengthens long-term resilience
